Q&A Question-2

The Final Generation: Psalm 83, ISIS, Islamic Hatred of Israel & God’s Plan for the Future

Prophecy is to point us to Christ who is the author of history, and the theme of Scripture.

God’s Word is at its very center prophetic.

The God who recorded the beginning, that no one but Him witnessed in Genesis; is also the God records the ending, that no one but Him could have ever written, in Revelation.

Isn’t it amazing that God devotes 1/4th or 25% of the Bible to the indivisible union that the world’s destiny has with God’s Chosen People of Promise, Israel, Jerusalem, and the Jews? Always remember:

The Centrality of Israel In the Bible

Using just a normal Bible with no study notes (my Bible is 1100 pages long) you find that:

600 pages (Genesis to Song of Solomon) are Israel’s origin, history, wanderings away from God, and worship (that is 600/1100 pages or) 54%; and

250 pages are devoted to the prophets (Isaiah to Malachi) that speak of the doom coming first to Israel then and the world in the future (that is 250/1100 pages or) 23%; and then we get

110 pages devoted to the Life of Christ (Matthew to John) that lasts for (110/1100 pages or) 10% of the Bible; and then

120 pages devoted to the record of Acts to Jude that explains Christ’s Church’s birth and mission for 120/1100 pages or 11%; and then the

20 pages of Revelation describing the centrality of Israel and Jerusalem in end of the world take up almost (20/1100 pages or) 2% of the Bible.

So just a simple glance at the Table of Contents of God’s Word would make a reader conclude that Israel, Jerusalem, and the Jews are very important to God.

And also, just the layout of the Bible that opens and closes with Israel, Jerusalem, and the Jews with the Church’s 21 % of the Word sandwiched importantly, but intentionally between the opening and closing

God who engineered the Scriptures has chosen to devote fully (4/5ths or) 79% of the Bible to Israel’s origin, calling, chastisement, return, and future troubles that engulf the whole world.

Each time the Old Testament prophets explained the future they universally began with Israel and all details revolved around Jerusalem and the Land.

Each times Jesus explained how the world would end He starts with Israel, Jerusalem, and the Jewish people (Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21).

Each time Paul explained how the world would end, began with Israel and all details revolved around Jerusalem in Romans 9-11, 1 & 2 Thessalonians (II Th. 2:4).

Each time John explained how the world would end, began with Israel and all details revolved around Jerusalem in Revelation 11, 13, 16, 19.

Israel is the 3rd largest topic is the Bible right after:

1.    God/Lord Himself mentioned 12,000 times (God 4094x/Lord 6781x/plus Jesus, Christ, Spirit, etc.);

2.    Salvation (man 3323x/sin 1016x/Jesus 942x);

3.    Israel is mentioned over 2900x and Jerusalem 767x. The church 111x, prayer 128x, and the cross 29x are much less mentioned.

Over 200 times God introduces Himself as the Great I am, the God of Israel (plus 17x the God of Abraham, and 25x the God of Jacob). He is not the “I was”, He is the “I AM”; and He is, His was, and has promised in the future that He will be the God of Israel.

Our Amazingly Jewish Heritage

For us who often are “Old Testament-Lite” we often overlook[1] or even forget the challenge that all 1189 chapters of the Scriptures present to us that:

As believers, we are headed:

1.    To a city made by God called the New JERUSALEM (Rev. 21:2),

2.    This city is already constructed by God with Twelve Gates named after the 12 Tribes of ISRAEL (Rev. 21:12);

3.    There are also Twelve Foundations of this Heavenly home prepared for us that are named after the 12 JEWISH Apostles (Rev. 21:14);

4.    God describes Himself as enthroned above a hill called ZION (Psalm 48:1-2);

5.    And as Jesus preached the Gospel He invited all who would respond to come to a Feast He described, that is going to be in Heaven, where we get to sit and eat with ABRAHAM, ISAAC and JACOB who are already SEATED there at the banquet (Matthew 8:11)!

6.    We serve the King of the Jews Mt. 2).

7.    We are members of a church founded by Jewish leaders;

8.    We have as our highest authority a Jewish Bible (all the 40 writing authors were Jewish);

9.    Our God is Jewish, for “salvation is of the Jews”, which is what no less than God in human flesh, our Lord Jesus said in John 4:22.

10.All of our spiritual benefits are derivative from the Abrahamic covenant.

11.And as New Testament members of Christ’s Body and Church, we are grafted into the true olive tree, from the root of Abraham as Romans 11 exhaustively explains.

Note with me at what Paul says in Romans 11:1-2, 5, 17-18, 25-26.

The Final Holocaust: psalm 83 Launches?

The Final Holocaust gets kicked off by perhaps the events of Psalm 83, which may look much like the current ISIS, Islamic Caliphate formation.

So God’s Word says that Israel has a future in God’s plan as a nation that comes under the attack of most nations of the world and that Jesus comes to rescue them before the final holocaust (Zech. 12-14; Rev. 19).  Look at the news from the past 6 months through the lens of prophecy.

One of the Signs we are in the Last Days is when thee is the Complete Encirclement of Israel by Mortal Enemies: Psalm 83:4-8 The nations where the ten ancient people groups and tribes mentioned in Psalm 83 live today, are: Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and the Palestinian territories within Israel. While the world was fixated on the cartoonist massacre in Paris in January 2015, a little noticed report surfaced that ISIS was penetrating the final nation (Saudi Arabia) in the list from Psalm 83.

Psalm 83:1-6 (NKJV) A Song. A Psalm of Asaph. Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, And do not be still, O God! 2 For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; And those who hate You have lifted up their head. 3 They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, And consulted together against Your sheltered ones. 4 They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.” 5 For they have consulted together with one consent; They form a confederacy against You: 6  The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab and the Hagrites; 7 Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre 8  Assyria also has joined with them; They have helped the children of Lot. Selah

Psalm 83 is one of the Psalms not written by King David. but by Asaph, who was called “The Seer.” A seer was a prophet. Asaph wrote a few of the Psalms.

The list of nations represents Israel’s enemies throughout its history.

1.     Edom descended from Esau and lived SE of Israel. For example, we know that when he talks about the “tents of Edom” they can be traced to the modern Palestinians residing in southern Jordan area.

2.     The Ishmaelites, descendants from Abraham and Hagar, were Bedouin tribes. The Ishmaelite’s are the Saudi’s.

3.     The Moabites descended from Lot (cf. v. 8) and were tribal people living E of the Jordan (cf. Judg. 11:17, 18; Is. 15, 16). Moab is possibly the Palestinians from central Jordan.

4.     The Hagrites were a nomadic tribe living E of the Jordan (1 Chr. 5:10, 19, 20). Hagarites are possibly the Egyptian Sinai Salafist Bedouins..

5.     Gebal was probably a community S of the Dead Sea, near Petra in Edom.

6.     Ammon, a nation descending from Lot, was located E of the Jordan River. Ammon is possibly the Palestinians in northern Jordan.

7.     The Amalekites, nomads living SE of the Jordan River, were descendants of Esau (cf. Gen. 36:12, 16; Ex. 17:8–13; Num. 24:20; Judg. 6:3; 1 Sam. 15:1–8). Amalek is possibly the Arabs in the Sinai area.

8.     Philistia was located SW of Israel (Judg. 14–16). Philistia is possibly Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

9.     Tyre was NW of Israel (cf. Ezek. 27). Tyre is possibly Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.[2]

10.  Assyria is the Syrians and those from northern Iraq, also the area that is controlled by ISIS today. All these different areas are countries that are directly connected by border to Israel.

The result — Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Gaza, Egypt and the Saudi nations. They connect by border to Israel and they want Israel destroyed. Even today these nations spend all their time in the UN trying to get rid of Israel as a nation.

The Psalm 83 prophecy talks about how Israel is going to one day subjugate the nations around her. This prophecy has never been fulfilled in history, so we know that it’s a future prophecy; it hasn’t happened yet, obviously.

But, we do know that a Psalm 83 War will happen before another prophetic war which can be found in Ezekiel 38 & 39. There we read about the Gog & Magog War. That’s when Russia leads a coalition of nations such as Iran, Turkey and all those ‘Stan nations like Turkmenistan, also Put which is modern day Libya, and the Sudan. All these nations are an outer ring of Islamic nations that want to destroy Israel. Missing from that scenario are the nations directly surrounding Israel, so a lot of Bible prophecy scholars point to Psalm 83 as the next prophetic war that precedes the Gog & Magog War.

Psalm 83:9-18 (NKJV) 9 Deal with them as with Midian, As with Sisera, As with Jabin at the Brook Kishon, 10 Who perished at En Dor, Who became as refuse on the earth. 11 Make their nobles like Oreb and like Zeeb, Yes, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna, 12 Who said, “Let us take for ourselves The pastures of God for a possession.” 13 O my God, make them like the whirling dust, Like the chaff before the wind! 14 As the fire burns the woods, And as the flame sets the mountains on fire, 15 So pursue them with Your tempest, And frighten them with Your storm. 16 Fill their faces with shame, That they may seek Your name, O Lord. 17 Let them be confounded and dismayed forever; Yes, let them be put to shame and perish, 18 That they may know that You, whose name alone is the Lord, Are the Most High over all the earth.

God promised to make His chosen people of destiny a source of fear for the whole world when they get back to the Promised Land in unbelief. God declared that in the last days before the Messiah’s second coming, Jerusalem would become “a cup of trembling…a burdensome stone for all people” (Zechariah 12:2,3)

Zechariah 12:2-3 I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem. 3 On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves.

We already saw in Ezekiel 36-39 says God will restore Israel in the last days, for the sake of HIS NAME (36:20-21; 39:7, 25).

God goes on to say that He will allow a vast coalition to come against Israel, and describes them over 3,000 years ago in terms that we can understand today. Turn with me to Psalm 83:6-8. These verses have never been fulfilled according to nearly every commentator of all eschatological views. These verses may give us an outline of that next war as a coalition of:

* Saudi Arabia

* Jordan

* Palestinians

* Lebanon

* Iraq/Syria

* But not Egypt

They will attack Israel and seek to take over Jerusalem.

All Arabs tried in 1948 to stop the rebirth; all tried in 1967 to wipe out Israel; only some joined in 1973; but this time Egypt will sit out most likely because of the Aswan High Dam. The largest military target in the region would send a wall of water down the Nile Valley that would kill millions of Egyptians. So the biggest army bordering Israel sits out, so that leaves the Syria/Iraq alliance.

What happens? It appears from Isaiah 17 that Damascus is melted in a whirlwind (Isaiah 17:17 and Psalm 83:13 both have whirlwinds, the effect of an atomic blast).

Also Jeremiah 49 says Damascus burns.

Jerusalem is the Powder Keg

And Zechariah 12:2 says all the nations that border (savivla is surround) Israel will tremble. Finally Zechariah 12:3.

Later a weakened and divided Jerusalem is attacked.

At the time Zechariah uttered this prophecy 2500 years ago, Jerusalem lay in ruins and was surrounded by wilderness.   And so it remained century after century. Zechariah’s prophecy seemed to be utter madness even after Israel’s rebirth in 1948. Yet today, exactly as foretold, a world of nearly 6 billion people has its eyes upon Jerusalem, fearful that the next world war, if it breaks out, will be fought over that tiny city. What an incredible fulfillment of prophecy!

 January 4th, 2015 – Update # 18

Is The Psalm 83 Confederacy (Islamic Caliphate) Surrounding Israel?

Hezbollah: Sunnis, Shiites will unite against Israel in next war (YNet News, Israel[3])

ISIS is Sunni – Hezbollah is Shiite
A top official from the terror group Hezbollah claims that despite deep internal divisions between Shiite and Sunni Muslims, thousands of Sunnis will join the radical Shiite terror group in its next fight against Israel…“Hezbollah’s response to Israel’s bet on Sunni-Shiite strife is this: The resistance is preparing for the next war with Israel, and thousands of our Sunni brothers in Lebanon will be among the ranks (of the) resistance,”…He further warned of the Islamic State group, saying they might use terror to target Lebanon with the hopes of extending their “emirate.”

… It cannot be much clearer here that the Islamic Caliphate will be made up of all the radical Islamic groups and States – Hezbollah and ISIS will merge for the common goal of a collective and united effort to annihilate Israel – AKA Psalm 83 …Bible prophecy being fulfilled in real time before our watching eyes!!

Nasrallah: Hezbollah prepared for war deep into Israel, beyond the Galilee

“We have made all necessary preparations for a future war with Israel,” Hezbollah chief says…Hezbollah is prepared for military intervention in Israel’s Galilee and beyond, deeper into Israeli territory, said the group’s leader Hassan Nasrallah.  “We have made all necessary preparations for a future war with Israel,”…Nasrallah said that Hezbollah has more types of weapons than Israel can imagine…http://www.jpost.com/Arab-Israeli-Conflict/Nasrallah-Hezbollah-prepared-for-war-deep-into-Israel-beyond-the-Galilee-387826

…”We have made all necessary preparations for a future war with Israel” could that statement be any more prophetic!  Hezbollah, a terrorist organization and proxy of Iran, appears to be ramping up for a final war with Israel.  Hezbollah is part of the “inhabitants of Tyre” among the ten Arab populations spoken about in Psalm 83:6-8… Nasrallah needs to read the Bible (Psalm 83) as his plan does not end well for Hezbollah in this soon coming war of extermination.  The Psalm states that the immediate neighbors surrounding Israel, will launch such a war for the purpose of “wiping out Israel as a nation” (verse 4). The nations described are those with a common border with Israel today (verses 6-8).

Hezbollah’s firepower of 150,000 projectiles exceeds all European armies combined

The IDF must be prepared for three principal security scenarios in the near future, former national security adviser Maj.- Gen. (res.) Yaakov Amidror has said, naming them as a large-scale ground war against Hezbollah in Lebanon, attrition against Hamas in Gaza, and the possibility of a military operation in Iran…“The strongest of them is Hezbollah, which was formed with a dual purpose in mind: It represents Iran’s long reach in the area and against Israel, and it aims to control Lebanon.  Hezbollah most closely resembles an army, and its arsenal totals some 150,000 missiles and rockets, several thousand of which can target any area in Israel.  “This rare and substantial firepower even exceeds the firepower possessed by most of the European states combined,” Additionally, Hezbollah is armed with surface-to-sea missiles, anti-aircraft missiles, drones and modern anti-tank missiles…http://www.jpost.com/Israel-News/IDF-must-be-prepared-for-action-against-Hezbollah-Hamas-and-Iran-387794

Islamic State has Breached Saudi Borders

While the world’s media focused on the events of Charlie Hebdo tragedy, it has simply ignored the terrorist attacks in the Middle East. Moreover, this very attacked has highlighted a major shift in the situation in the region, putting the primary strategic partner of the US in the Arab world – Saudi Arabia at risk.  Early on January 5 four ISIL militants crossed the border of Saudi Arabia in the Northern Province area.  During a shootout with the Saudi border patrol that broke out when the militants attacked a checkpoint, one of the terrorists was killed while the other detonated an explosive belt, killing three Saudi soldiers.  The attack on the border checkpoint near the town of Arar means that now ISIL has officialy started assaulting Saudi Arabia…things are looking grim for the Saudi authorities, given the fact that a total of 5 to 7 thousand Saudi citizens are fighting under the Islamic State banner…http://journal-neo.org/2015/01/14/rus-granitsy-islamskogo-gosudarstva-doshli-do-saudovskoj-aravii/

ISIS infiltrating yet another bordering State to Israel, which is involved in the Psalm 83 War…ISIS now has a presence in every single State and terrorist organization named in Psalm 83!! …is their any doubt that “The Psalm 83 Confederacy (ISIS – Islamic Caliphate) is Surrounding Israel?”
