REVELATION 20:11-15

1. We KNOW Satan is the Adversary. “out of the bottomless pit” 2. We ARE Citizens of Heaven. “dwell on the Earth” > 3. We HAVE a Secure Salvation. “names were not…” 4. We WERE chosen by God “before the foundation…”

There are five words that you need to understand to really rest in the salvation God has designed: FOREKNOWLEDGE PREDESTINATION CALLING JUSTIFICATION GLORIFICATION But these are for later. Today, Why can we be sure our Salvation is Secure? First of all, theologically, our salvation is secured in a triple way.

OUR SURE SALVATION IS SECURED BY GOD. I. By God the Father’s Decree A. THE FATHER SENT B. THE FATHER GIVES C. THE FATHER SECURES D. THE FATHER PROMISES II. Through Christ the Son’s Defense A. CHRIST DIED FOR WHAT WE WERE: SINFUL B. CHRIST PURGES WHAT WE ARE: DEFILED C. CHRIST INTERCEDES WHAT WE WILL BE: WEAK III. With God the Spirit’s Deposit A. THE SPIRIT SEALS B. THE SPIRIT RESERVES OUR PLACE C. THE SPIRIT SANCTIFIES

IV. WE ALSO HAVE SURE PROMISES. A. His Peace because the War is ended. B. His Presence because the Veil was opened. 1. In the Past there was Fear. 2. In the Present we have Free Access. 3. For the Future we have Great Boldness Confidence). C. His Promise of a Hope for the Future. 1. We have an Enduring Hope.

2. We have a rejoicing Hope. D. His Prevailing Love within us. 1. His love has been POURED OUT.. 2. His Love is now OVERFLOWING. E. His Power To Deliver Us.

Let’s examine each of these facts that make us triply secure in our Salvation.

V. OUR SURE SALVATION IS SECURED BY GOD.

A. By God the Father’s Decree  THE FATHER SENT: John5:24 “I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. (NIV)

 THE FATHER GIVES: John 6:37-40 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. 38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. 39 And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. (KJV)

 THE FATHER SECURES: John 10:27-29 “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28 “And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. 29 “My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. (NKJV)

 THE FATHER PROMISES: Hebrews 6:13-18 When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself, 14 saying, “I will surely bless you and give you many descendants.” 15 And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised. 16 Men swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all argument. 17 Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. 18 God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. (NIV)
