MARK 13:1-4 “BEWARE OF DISTRACTION”

Jesus Christ has longest sermon of His latter year of ministry. It is a two part: 1. Message of peace thru peril in v. 1-13. Remember? Have you jotted His piercing point in your bible? I have. I need these reminders!

v.1-4 Beware of distraction (Good for best) v. 5-6 Beware of deception v. 7-8 Beware of depression mind I perfect peace Is. 26:3 mind guarded and guided Phil. 4:6-7,8 v.. 9-13 Beware of defection (Jot these down for tough days) • 1 Th. 3:3-4 destined for • 1 Phil. 4:12-19 don’t be surprised • 2 Tim. 3:12 all who live Godly will suffer • Mt. 5:11-12 blessed … when men revile

Then after that He goes to the end and exhorts:

BE ALERT TO GOD – WHY v. 14-19 He predicts awful days v. 20-32 He protects all His own. V. 33-37 He expects alertness

Applications:

1. V. 14-23 Maintaining peacefulness in uncertainty and suffering. 2. V. 24-33 Maintaining work for His kingdom 3. V. 34-36 Maintaining loyalty to our Master 4. V. 37 Maintaining focus of life on His purposes.

“All of life is moving toward Him – be alert, be ready” Titus 2:12-13, 1 Jn. 2:2-3, Col. 1:15-16.
